Children of the New World
A collective self-bestowed name for various diminutive reptilian and amphibious tribal races in the New World. Each tribe so far seems to share similar biology, coloration, and language.
A reptilian Gelkari tribe notable for the bright red crests atop their heads, the “Red Gelkari” have so far been universally hostile to the settlers. The “Red Gelkari” appear to serve or cooperate with the Tolzec saurians.
They fight using primitive weapons, primarily wooden spears and slings. Their priests conjure orbs of acid to throw at enemies.
A frog-like Gelkari tribe local to the Bell region, notable for the bright green and blue patterns on their skin. They are extremely energetic, and once they have decided someone isn’t a threat, are very open and enthusiastic creatures. They are hostile with the “Red Gelkari” and the Tolzec saurians.
They fight using primitive weapons, primarily wooden spears and slings.
Tall-Leaper: A “Blue Gelkari” who encountered and befriended the party soon after their arrival in the New World. After a period of mistrust concerning the party’s dragonborn, he took a liking to the group. After being gifted with the charred remains of a giant spider (a delicacy to the frogmen), Tall-Leaper gifted the party with a feathered fetish signifying his friendship and their general welcome among his tribe. Encountered again in Azure after a Tolzec raid, the party healed the wounded Tall-Leaper.
